Walkies With Wayne

**ADVERSE WEATHER**

We still work during adverse weather.. but changes can be:

For Heat

* always at customer choice.

* using a clients shaded garden and just keeping the dogs cool and comfortable.

* driving the dogs to a shaded location and allowing them to play in some cool water

* checking in with dogs left home alone, topping water bowls up and that fans are safe when left on

* changing times and walking earlier or later.

We have been to check out some safe water play areas too that won't be overcrowded or in full sun.

Our car has air con and we have a special fan in the boot and window shades.

For the dogs who like coolant mats we have those too

Gentle reminder.

Don't walk your dogs in this heat if you won't walk with no shoes on.. they shouldn't !

Fill the water bowls up !

Don't be tempted to feed them human ice cream it's got so many nasties in!

If you take your dogs out don't leave them in hot vehicles!

For Cold

*  always at customer choice.

* coats (and shoes) if requested by customer.

* feet wash down if in contact with grit/snow/ice

* checking in with dogs left home alone, topping water/food bowls up and that heaters are safe when left on

* changing times and walking earlier or later.

* using the area the dog is used to and not walking far in wind/rain/snow when a weather warning is issued.

All dogs are washed and rubbed down before bringing back so your carpet wont be ruined by muddy paws.

Gentle reminder

Grit is dangerous for dogs feet so avoid walking on paths and where it has been used and rinse paws and pads off if they do come into contact with it.
